Some very good ideas in this book. But, the book would be much better with an introductory chapter on the materials specific tools needed. For example, Proulx mention how with the right screws and the correct blade, you can make solid joints and chip-free cuts with Melamine PB - but he doesn't describe the screws or blades! Also, it would be nice if the materials lists gave total quantities, such as number of sheets of PB, approximate screw count.

There are some good ideas in this book, he uses a lot of particle board. I need to remember that it is just shop workstations, cost is most important.

I have been using Old English Scratch Remover for several decades (have hardwood floors). If there is a better product--fairly unlikely--I hope that I will hear about it. It does exactly what it says it will do: covers up scratches. A year or so later, after normal wear on the floor, the scratches will show up again. So you just put some more Old English Scratch Remover down on it (doesn't take much effort). Floor looks new again.

I like this particular product so much that I chose to give it as a "floor-warming" gift to a friend who had just replaced her old carpet with a new oak-hardwood floor.

I really like this product. It works great on wood cabinets and molding to cover minor scratches and brighten up dull looking cabinets. It comes in a dark wood and light wood formula. For some reason I was having a hard time finding the light wood formula in all of my local stores so I decided to just order it on line. I highly recommend it to make woodwork look like new.
